The Northwest Linguist is the joint quarterly publication of NOTIS and WITS, with articles pertaining to various aspects of the translation and interpreting professions, reviews of recent meetings, announcements of upcoming meetings and workshops, listings of relevant local and regional course offerings, and a variety of other items of interest to translators and interpreters in the Northwest.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Articles are due by the 15th of the month prior to publication (i.e., January 15th for February/Winter publication).

  2. Articles should not exceed 2,500 words.

  3. All articles must be published in English.

  4. Articles may include a brief biography (6 sentences maximum) along with a digital photo of yourself if you wish. Please do not send photos via US mail without express permission.

  5. Please submit all articles electronically via email attachment to Laura Wideburg at wideburg@ix.netcom.com.  

  6. Text should be formatted for MS Word.

  7. All articles become the property of The Northwest Linguist once they are submitted and are subject to editing for grammar, style, punctuation and space limitations.

  8. A proof will be sent to you for review prior to publishing only if you so request.
