Interpreting Pediatric Vaccines – Past and Present

Unpacking the Evolution of Vaccination in Children: A Historical and Modern Perspective
Presented by Sara Greenlee, MA CT

This is a pre-recorded workshop reformatted into on-demand.

What is it about?

Vaccines are the newest hot topic across the world.
If you have worked in pediatric medicine though, you are already very familiar with them. But do we really know everything we’d like to about pediatric vaccines and the diseases that they prevent? If you’re curious about the science behind different types of vaccines or the systemic damage one tiny pathogen can cause, then this is the workshop for you. We will dive deep into the diseases targeted by the CDC’s pediatric vaccination schedule and the vaccines that are making them history.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the vaccine schedule recommended by the CDC for pediatric patients
  • Understand the different types of vaccines currently recommended for children in the US and the science behind their development
  • Learn about disease pathology of vaccine-preventable pediatric illnesses
  • Practice targeted skills necessary for interpreting the vaccine schedule and vaccine information
  • Become familiar with diseases discussed in well child and vaccine appointments
