Ethics Jeopardy!

What is it about?
Ethics has never been so much fun! This two-hour class uses the format of the game show “Jeopardy!” to meet your one-credit ethics requirement for DSHS as well as to get you thinking about how the DSHS Code of Conduct applies to real-life situations. Join veteran interpreter trainer Cindy Roat for a fun and ethical workshop!

When?
Tuesday, December 10th, 2024, 6 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. PST.

Before you register, make sure that your online setup meets the equipment and connectivity requirements. Please read these important REQUIREMENTS before proceeding with your registration.

Registration?

 (five days before the webshop date). After registering, you will receive an email confirmation; if you do not receive a confirmation, your registration did not go through. 

Space is limited to the first 30 registrants.

**Credit Information for DSHS Interpreters:** Interpreters may complete the Gateway ethics quiz annually to earn ethics credits. However, please note that an actual class on ethics will not count towards credit more than once in a four-year cycle, as per LTC regulations.

NOTIS issues proof of continuing education at the time it is earned. NOTIS does not guarantee the replacement of lost certificates.

Who is teaching?

Cindy Roat is a national consultant and trainer with 29 years’ experience in the healthcare interpreting field. With an MPH in International Health Services, Cindy has made significant contributions to the healthcare interpreting field in the areas of training, program development, policy formulation, advocacy, and organizational outreach. Her written works are key resources for interpreters, providers, and administrators alike. Cindy was the principal author of the original Bridging the Gap, and her most recent book, Healthcare Interpreting in Small Bites, is being used as an ancillary text at many basic training programs.

Certificates of Attendance will be awarded to all who arrive on time and stay for the entire workshop. Please allow yourself enough time to log on and sign in before the webshop begins. While latecomers are welcome to stay for the educational value of the webshop, DSHS will not provide CE credit if you arrive late, for any reason. Certificate will be emailed the following week. 

Refunds?
No refunds can be given after December 5th. A $15 processing fee will apply for refunds requested before the date. Contact NOTIS for cancellation. Credit for a missed workshop cannot be transferred to another workshop. No refunds will be given for reasons unrelated to this content, such as an unstable internet connection, issues with third-party applications, not receiving reminders, or problems with system requirements.
